A balanced and independent voice for Lafayette’s future.

Thank You.

While I came up short, I want to share my thoughts on this experience and hopefully encourage others to take part in this amazing aspect of the American experiment.

Meet Lauren.

An engaged member of our community, Lauren has been involved in city issues since she and her family moved to Lafayette a decade ago. From volunteering on the Parks, Trails and Recreation Commission and grassroots neighborhood organizing to volunteering with youth activities and signing up to be a substitute teacher since the omicron surge, Lauren steps up to get things done. She cares deeply for this aspirational community and wants it to be the best it can be not only for her family, but also for everyone who calls Lafayette home.

TOP PRIORITIES

Community Spaces

Creating more neighborhood gathering locations, especially in and around Downtown Lafayette, not only helps us meet our master plan’s parkland goals, but also fosters communication and understanding to bridge the digital, generational and cultural divide.

Balanced Growth & Governance

In our efforts to do our part to foster and support a multifaceted society, it’s imperative that Lafayette evolves in a manner that recognizes the reality of our infrastructure and limited-services city resources.

Effective Communications

Recent survey data shows that current city messaging efforts can do better. As a former marketing and communications professional, Lauren understands the need for good communications and can bring her expertise to help better inform citizens of issues impacting Lafayette.
